Information about our appointments system
Appointments can only be provided to patients registered with the surgery. Registration is a simple and easy process and can be done online or in person, just ensure you have a piece of photographic ID, like a passport and some proof of your address, like a utility bill.
How to book an appointment with a Doctor
The Family Practice Group runs a triage service Monday – Friday for patients that require an urgent appointment. You can book directly here or just click the image below:
You may also call the practice, however, we would like to urge our patients to use our online service where possible to keep the lines free for emergencies and the patients who cannot use our online services. Both methods will have a similar estimated turnaround time.
We aim to deal with your request within 48 hours of your request being received, patients will be triaged by a clinician & prioritised based on the nature of the request and illness.
The method of appointment will be determined by a clinician i.e. telephone consultation, video consults, or a face-to-face appointment, you may request either of these methods and the practice will try to accommodate you where possible.
Admin queries and requests
Admin queries such as the following can be requested by clicking on our consultation button via our website:
- Fit & Sick Notes
- Questions about test results and requests for tests
- An issue with a recent prescription
- General Admin Enquiries
- Doctor’s letter
Unfortunately due to patient safety and medicines wastage policy, we do not accept prescription requests over the phone, unless you have a disability or long-term chronic illness. Prescriptions can be ordered through a variety of methods:
- Through your regular pharmacy – Month on Month or 3 monthly
- Patient Access App – patientaccess.com
- Emailing the surgery – swlccg.
Please be aware, that all repeat prescription requests take 48 working hours to be processed.
